Two Leeds United fixtures have been selected for live Sky Sports broadcast next month. It promises to be a testing start to the 2025/26 Premier League season for Daniel Farke's side.
After welcoming Everton to Elland Road, their first away match sees them travel to Arsenal on Saturday, August 23. The clash with Mikel Arteta's team has been switched to a 5:30pm kick-off after being selected for television coverage.
A week after the trip to the Emirates Stadium, the Whites entertain Carabao Cup winners Newcastle United. The showdown has also been moved to the later time of a 5:30pm kick-off.
United have revamped their first team squad over the summer, signing four new players. Sweden international left-back Gabriel Gudmundsson is the latest recruit, arriving for an undisclosed fee, thought to be in the region of £10m, from Lille. The 26-year-old made 45 appearances across all competitions for the French club last season.
Gudmundsson told LUTV: "It's been a dream for me to come to the Premier League and to sign for Leeds to be a part of that, it feels amazing. I think I was growing up watching the Premier League and obviously my father played there as well, so it's a bit of a connection there already.
“It's an amazing league and it's a big competitive league, strongest league in the world I think, in my opinion. My friends and family told me that the fan base is huge [at Leeds United] and obviously I know that and also the stadium here is unbelievable as well with the fans shouting.
“I'm up for all the challenges and really looking forward to playing here in front of all the fans and with teammates and get to know everyone.
“I want to help the team with my qualities. That's what I think I came here to do, so with the experience I gained the last years, I hope to help the team with that.”
