Nottingham Forest have just been handed a £26.7m boost after major announcement elsewhere -…

Nottingham Forest will have been one of the clubs casting a close eye towards the ongoing situation at Lyon.

Two weeks ago, it was announced that the Ligue 1 club had been kicked out of the league following some financial uncertainties and had been relegated from the top flight.

That naturally complicated the situation involving John Textor and Crystal Palace, with question marks over whether UEFA would allow the Eagles to take their place in the Europa League.

Today, a sizeable spanner has been thrown in the works for Palace, with Lyon winning their appeal, meaning they will stay in Ligue 1 and also play in the Europa League next season.

Whilst UEFA now iron out what comes next for Forest and Palace, it could be extremely good news for the Reds over two players.

Nottingham Forest handed boost over two possible transfers

Before all of this happened with Lyon, it was claimed that they were going to sign Danilo and Matt Turner from Forest.

Naturally, those deals were placed on hold, although now they could be back on with both players likely to fancy the move to France.

Turner is set to join in a deal worth around £6.7 million, whilst Danilo could rake in around £20 million should his transfer go through.

It would appear now that things could heat up over this one and hopefully, Forest can rake in more income.

Forest would welcome more players out of the squad

Forest won’t want to lose any more star players, but it’s important that the Forest head coach, Nuno Espirito Santo, continues to work with a squad brimming with quality and not quantity.

Danilo has struggled to replicate his form he showed before his broken ankle since returning, and a fresh start at a club where he’d be a regular would be a wise move.

Turner hasn’t really been a good signing for Forest, and the sooner the club can get him away from the wage bill, the better.

Gary Neville slammed Turner for a Forest display against Manchester United and if Lyon are prepared to take him off their hands, it would represent a good move for all parties.
