Mohammed Kudus has edged ever closer to departing West Ham over the last few days.

The forward endured a quiet campaign by his lofty standards last time out, but that hasn’t stopped several of the Premier League’s biggest clubs from sniffing around him this summer.

Tottenham have emerged as the most likely suitors for Kudus, with the Hammers seemingly now resigned to losing one of their star men.

David Sullivan and Co. may be preparing to admit defeat as far as the Ghanaian’s future is concerned, but they have still been determined to ensure a sale doesn’t go through unless their demands are met.

Kudus sees Spurs as an “absolute priority” and has agreed personal terms

West Ham have already rejected a bid of £50million from Tottenham, but their London rivals have seemed totally undeterred in their pursuit.

The Hammers are keen to ensure they collect £60m before they allow the former Ajax man to depart E20, and there has now been a major advancement in Tottenham’s bid to sign the forward.

Kudus has now agreed personal terms with Spurs ahead of a potential move, according to reports from Fabrizio Romano (9 July).

The 24-year-old is thought to view a move to North London as his “absolute priority”, and Daniel Levy is said to be continuously advancing in his talks to turn the potential move into a reality.

West Ham need a quick Kudus sale

Selling Kudus to Tottenham will not be a popular decision among the fanbase by any means, but it now seems unavoidable if the Hammers want their valuation to be met in full.

Spurs have continually made advancements in their chase of the attacker, whereas the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea have seemingly taken a more relaxed approach.

From Graham Potter’s perspective, it now seems inevitable that he won’t be able to include Kudus in his plans for the upcoming campaign, and as a result, he will surely be keen to see the sale go through as quickly as possible.

Given that they will need time to explore potential replacements for the outgoing star, it is in the club’s best interests to work with Spurs to ensure as swift a conclusion as possible to the whole saga.

The longer the discussions drag on between the two sides, the less time West Ham have to reinvest the money they receive into Potter’s squad for next term.
