Vitor Pereira has already been told why ‘dangerous’ target is everything Wolves need right now…

Wolves could strike gold in the South American market once again this summer.

As Vitor Pereira continues to relish his all-Brazilian midfield pivot, it’s no wonder that Wolves are charmed by the Brazilian market.

Such has led the Old Gold to have interest in Flamengo’s Wallace Yan, a 20-year-old striker who has the potential to truly explode.

Yan could offer so much to Wolves at a time when Pereira’s attack has taken a beating, with Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri’s goal threat gone.

Wolves target Wallace Yan is known for being reliable

There was concern, as Yan has a £43m release clause in place at Flamengo, a fee that Wolves cannot, and will not, pay for one player.

Fortunately, the Rio de Janeiro club’s actual asking price is thought to be a lot lower, between the region of £13m and £22m.

Like any transfer prospect, there will be reservations, particularly when a player with limited senior experience is linked, but for Yan, things could be so different.

The player’s manager, Filipe Luis, spoke highly of the forward in March 2025, sharing words that could inspire Wolves to pursue the Brazilian’s transfer.

“Wallace is a player with a lot of ambition and a desire to win. We notice that when he steps onto the field, we notice it. He even does more than we ask. I know him very well.

“He’s been improving a lot and training very well. He gives me confidence in training that I can count on him, and he showed that today, that he’s an important piece of the squad. Another attacking piece that Flamengo has created.”

Luis was talking after Flamengo’s draw with Internacional, a match that Yan was handed 19 minutes to impress in.

Wolves might be drawn to the manager’s description of his striker being ‘reliable’, lauding Yan as a piece of the attack that he can ‘count on’.

“I count on him; he’s an important player for me. If he doesn’t get minutes here, he will in the U-20s because he will continue to develop. In the absence of attackers, he’s a reliable and dangerous player.”

A reliable source of danger is exactly what Wolves need, as after losing their Mr Reliable, Cunha, there’s a debate to be had about where the goals will come from.

Wolves could be onto a winner with Yan

Yan impressed at the Club World Cup, a tournament that Wolves would’ve surely had eyes on.

The fact that the striker is already showing his manager that he’s reliable is encouraging, as other starlets in Brazil who have done so have gone on to do great things.

Whether Yan could follow in the footsteps of the likes of Endrick and Estevao remains to be seen, but what is clear is that Wolves should take a chance.

Being a fearless and malleable player, Pereira could be the next Wolves manager to get himself a bargain from Brazil.
