Đorđe Petrović was reportedly in talks with Sunderland last week over a potential move, but it would appear that the newly promoted side have been unable to convince the 25-year-old to actually join them. It’s instead AFC Bournemouth who have submitted an official transfer offer today, according to Fabrizio Romano, with Petrović “keen” to join.
The Cherries were said to be keeping tabs on the situation all along, and the midtable side would probably be a more attractive proposition for the 25-year-old. Petrović helped RC Strasbourg reach European football last season — and earn a nomination for Ligue 1 Goalkeeper of the Year in the process. Bournemouth had Kepa Arrizabalaga on loan from us last season, but Kepa has since joined Arsenal in a £5m move.
For Petrović, the rumored price tag has been around £25m. Bournemouth’s offer is of an unknown amount, but hopefully we don’t settle for anything less.
