Matthew Stafford's wife Kelly has opened up on the 'generous' prenup she signed with the Los Angeles Rams quarterback after initially being reluctant to do so.
Kelly, 36, recently celebrated her 10th wedding anniversary with former Super Bowl champion Matthew, 37, whom she shares four daughters with.
The couple, who met in 2009 while at the University of Georgia, tied the knot six years later in a lavish Atlanta ceremony and remain happily married to this day.
Yet when she officially became Mrs Stafford, Matthew had to approach the awkward topic of a prenuptial agreement with his wife.
'I had been with my husband for a while, but I was still young and very naive [to] this whole situation,' Kelly recalled on the latest episode of her 'The Morning After' podcast.
'We had talked about prenups even before getting engaged. I was very naive and was like, "I feel like we're planning our divorce before getting married. I don't really love the idea."
'But then again I had to look at the other direction and say, "Well, if we never get divorced, we'll never need it anyway." So why wouldn't I?'

And Kelly says that Matthew, who recently signed a new $84million contract with the Rams to take his career earnings in the NFL to over $360m, made the process a lot easier by ensuring the terms of the prenup were fair.
'Honestly, it was, and it doesn't even matter, it was very fair. He was obviously very generous in it all.
'But I think sometimes when you think prenups, it's a negative connotation when you're talking about marriage. And turns out, I agree with letting you and your significant other decide the terms if a divorce does happen.
'I don't think anyone thinks about it, the state has control and they do. At the end of the day, the government controls that contract. So, to make your own seems way smarter.'
Kelly and Matthew have four daughters - twins Chandler and Sawyer, 8 years old, Hunter, 6, and the youngest, Tyler, 4.
The football WAG stood by her man's side when the family got upended from Detroit to Los Angeles in 2021, the result of him being traded from the Lions to the Rams.
Stafford, who has spent 17 years in the NFL, also recently restructured his contract to stay in Los Angeles despite interest from other teams.

He had two years left on the four-year, $160m contract extension he signed in 2022, shortly after leading the Rams to a championship in his first season with the team.
But his $27m salary for the upcoming season was significantly less than the compensation for most quarterbacks of Stafford's stature, and the deal had only $4m in guaranteed money remaining in 2025 and none in 2026.
Stafford reached a deal to get more guaranteed money last year on the day before training camp opened, and he engaged the Rams on a second renegotiation. LA apparently were reluctant to meet Stafford's initial demands, even allowing him to get an assessment of his value to other teams in view of a possible trade.
The Rams were concerned about a financial commitment that would impede their ability to build their depth, but the sides ultimately came to an agreement that kept Stafford at the controls of coach Sean McVay's offense in 2025.
