After Boston dealt away Jrue Holiday and Kristaps Porzingis, questions naturally began to rise about who might be next — and whether White could be part of that list.

The Celtics have reportedly explored avenues to gain more financial flexibility, and with rumors tying Boston to stars like Damian Lillard, White’s future became a topic of conversation.

Speaking with NBC Sports Boston, White addressed the rumors and revealed that team president Brad Stevens and his representatives have been in contact during this period.

“I think every summer is pretty crazy, especially nowadays,” White said. “But I didn't feel too worried about anything. My agent and Brad had been talking, and all the other rumors and stuff, I wasn't really too worried about.

“I mean, I feel like it's cool to be wanted by other teams, but I wanted to stay in Boston, and I was glad they wanted to keep me,” White continued.

White has grown into one of Boston’s most important two-way players. Last season, he appeared in 76 games and averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 4.5 rebounds, while shooting 38.4% from three-point range.
