Leeds United will be happy this week, as some transfer deals could fall in their laps. Daniel Farke still wants a number 10 at the club.
Last season, he tried to sign Gustavo Hamer but had bids rejected. Because of that, Brenden Aaronson had to take up the role for the rest of the campaign. And even though he scored nine times in the league, he himself admitted to performing poorly in the middle of the campaign.

Leeds United considering move for Emi Buendia

Manchester City have made James McAtee available for around £25million this summer; he is one of the targets Leeds have been linked with.
Emi Buendia has also been on the club’s shortlist for the past few months. Graeme Bailey reported a few weeks ago that the Whites would consider a permanent move for the Villa star, but it looks like plans have changed. Bailey has now given an update on the situation:
“I am told that Leeds want Buendia on loan with an option to sign him – think Leeds are waiting Villa out.” he told Leeds United News.
Leeds could move for Buendia on a permanent deal, but will offer a loan as they wait on Aston Villa.
Aston Villa’s financial situation
The reason Leeds may be planning to wait Villa out is due to their financial situation. Unai Emery’s side were fined £11million for breaching UEFA’s financial sustainability regulations.
Villa have to move some players this summer to balance the books, and Buendia could be one of them. If Leeds are patient, they could get the Argentine on a cut-price deal.
Buendia is the key to the number 10 role
Leeds need a number 10 who can provide the spark for the team. Brenden Aaronson does not offer that as he is more of a scorer, but he lacks creativity.

Daniel Farke’s system would go up a level with Buendia, who is a great creator and playmaker. The Argentine’s last season under Farke saw him score 15 league goals, maybe he can replicate this form if he joins the club.
