West Ham receive offer for 19-year-old – Player not keen despite limited minutes

West Ham United have received a proposal from Botafogo for Luis Guilherme, [according to Globo Esporte](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/botafogo/noticia/2025/07/09/botafogo-faz-proposta-por-luis-guilherme-do-west-ham.ghtml).

The 19-year-old forward, signed from Palmeiras for £25m in June 2023, is attracting interest from Brazil despite a quiet debut season in England.

Luis Guilherme featured just 13 times for the Hammers during his first campaign, and Botafogo had been monitoring his situation for months.

The Rio de Janeiro club made an initial approach during the special transfer window ahead of the Club World Cup and have now formalised their interest.

Still, the Brazilian outlet reports that the first feedback from the player’s representatives was negative, with Luis Guilherme making it clear he intends to continue his career in Europe.

His camp remains hopeful that increased opportunities will come in the upcoming season, especially as West Ham go through changes in their squad.

Despite the lack of minutes, West Ham are not actively looking to sell the youngster, who remains a long-term investment.

Botafogo, meanwhile, are aware of the difficulty in convincing him to return but remain attentive to any developments.
