Future of 'sensational' Liverpool ace has surely been decided after major transfer update emerges from Anfield - opinion

Arne Slot’s Liverpool squad have already undergone a plethora of changes this summer.

The Reds have spent close to £200million on bolstering their ranks so far, and to be honest, they could still do with another couple of players being brought in.

Of course, Florian Wirtz will be their statement signing of the season, but other players such as Jeremie Frimpong and Milos Kerkez could end up playing a more important role than the German.

However, if Slot does want to add more players to his first-team squad, then he’s going to have to sell some of his talent.

So far, the likes of Jarell Quansah and Caoimhin Kelleher have been moved on with others such as Darwin Nunez and Luis Diaz also on the cusp of exiting.

Harvey Elliott is also among those who have been rumoured to want an exit, with his Liverpool future now seemingly decided.

Harvey Elliott’s days at Liverpool could be numbered after Eberechi Eze links

As mentioned, Liverpool have dominated the transfer market this summer, with the Reds being linked with a new player every other day.

And, as per a fresh report from The Independent, it seems like Liverpool are now in the running for Eberechi Eze.

The Englishman helped Crystal Palace win their first ever major trophy at the end of the 2024-25 season with his performances piquing the interest of many Premier League clubs.

Both Arsenal and Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move for the former QPR man, but now, the Reds have been given an outside chance of signing the number 10.

On paper, this would be an incredible move for Liverpool, but in Elliott’s case, he’d end up even further down the pecking order.

At the moment, Elliott exiting Anfield this summer feels like the best move for both parties, especially since he’s now 22 years old.

Where Harvey Elliott could end up moving to if he leaves Liverpool

Following Elliott’s impressive performances at the Under-21 Euros, a plethora of clubs have been linked with an interest in him.

Some of the most concrete links have come from West Ham United and Wolves, with both teams looking to sign a creative player to boost their attacking ranks.

Jamie O’Hara has also said that he’d take Elliott at Tottenham due to the potential he has within him.

At the moment, nothing is set in stone and with no recent links emerging in the media, for the moment, he looks likely to stay at Liverpool.

But, if Slot does end up signing Eze or going for another attacking midfielder this summer, it’ll almost certainly be the end of the road for the former Fulham man.

That is, even though Jurgen Klopp believes he’s a ‘sensational talent.’
