Manchester United “have offered” €90m (£77.5m) for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni, according to Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda
Speaking on TV programme El Chiringuito (quotes via TEAMtalk), Inda said that, while the Red Devils have made an approach for the World Cup finalist, it is unlikely the Real will sanction his sale considering his importance to the team:
“An offer has arrived from Manchester United for a player that Xabi Alonso is loving and whose name is Aurelien Tchouameni.”

Man United do need a player like Tchouameni
Head coach Ruben Amorim is said to be keen on adding reinforcements in the middle of the park. At the weekend, it was claimed that talks with the agents of Atalanta’s Ederson have recommenced, suggesting that the recruitment team are actively looking to sign a midfielder.
However, it does not seem likely that the Red Devils tabled an offer for Tchouameni. Not only is the size of the bid implausible, his manager has also publicly spoken out about his importance over the past few days.
Alonso has praised the midfielder
Speaking after the 3-2 win over Borussia Dortmund in the quarter-final of the Club World Cup, head coach Xabi Alonso made his feelings clear about the France international:
“Our system today was defined by Aurelien Tchouameni. We let him analyze what’s needed and decide where he needs to be.In some sequences, he played high, and in others, he dropped low in a back 5. He did it really, really well.”
Based on those remarks, you cann’t see Tchouameni being offloaded by Real anytime soon. United will probably have to look elsewhere to strengthen their midfield.
