Arsenal haven’t made an offer for the Real Madrid winger yet, but he has been benched four times in a row by manager Xabi Alonso, potentially suggesting that he could be on his way out of the Bernabeu this summer.
Any deal for the Brazilian winger is expected to amount to around £70m, based on his desire to leave, and Real Madrid’s asking price. It is not yet understood how much Arsenal would be willing to spend on him.
Romano says Al Nassr are “not in talks” for Rodrygo
Amid Arsenal’s interest in the winger, it has also been reported that Saudi Pro League side Al Nassr are interested in him, and could make a move this summer if it looks like Rodrygo could leave Madrid.
However, Arsenal have been given a huge boost, as Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that Al Nassr are not in talks to sign Rodrygo, leaving tha route clear for the Gunners to go after him.
Romano said on his YouTube channel: “There were rumours in recent days of Al Nassr in talks, considering, making approaches for Rodrygo. Al Nassr are not in talks for Rodrygo. To sign Rodrygo today and bring him out of Europe, not just as a transfer fee to Madrid, but also as a salary, it would take a really really big, crazy proposal.
“In this moment, I’m not aware of Al Nassr working on this one, I’m not aware of concrete negotiations of Rodrygo to Al Nassr.”
Romano’s claim seems pretty certain, that Arsenal won’t face competition from the Saudi Pro League side for Rodrygo, potentially allowing Mikel Arteta a green light to make a move for the Brazilian winger himself, and bring him to the Emirates.
