Arsenal have submitted an official bid for Chelsea winger Noni Madueke, offering a package worth around £50 million, including add-ons, as Mikel Arteta pushes ahead with a summer reshaping of his attacking options.

The bid was first reported by Fabrizio Romano, who stated that while Chelsea are holding out for more than £50m guaranteed, negotiations between the two clubs are ongoing and described the relationship between the sides as positive.

He added that Madueke has already agreed personal terms with Arsenal.

Arsenal’s move comes after a week of escalating developments. David Ornstein also reported for The Athletic that Madueke had agreed terms with Arsenal, although, at that point, there had been no formal contact between the clubs.

Sami Mokbel, writing for the BBC, later confirmed that while personal terms had been agreed, there was still no agreement over the fee.

Ed Aarons, writing for The Guardian, reported that Chelsea are seeking a minimum of £50m for Madueke but are open to negotiations. That valuation was echoed by Sam Dean, Sam Wallace, and Mike McGrath in The Telegraph, who suggest the west London club are expecting offers above that threshold.

Madueke joined Chelsea from PSV Eindhoven in January 2023 for a reported £29m and has made 92 appearances for the club, scoring 20 goals, with nine assists.

Though talented, his career punctuated by numerous injuries, and with Chelsea under pressure to balance their books, the 23-year-old has emerged as a viable option.
