Former Cougars suiting up for NBA 2K26 Summer League in Vegas

When the NBA 2K26 Summer League tips off on July 10, two former College of Charleston basketball standouts will take the floor in Las Vegas.

Two-time All-CAA First Team member Ante Brzovic will suit up for the Memphis Grizzlies, while 2025 All-CAA Third Team member CJ Fulton will play for the Minnesota Timberwolves.

The duo becomes the first Cougars to play in the league since Grant Riller played for the Philadelphia 76ers in 2022.

"I was working out with different NBA teams prior to the draft trying to prove myself," Brzovic said. "Receiving the phone call to play with the Grizzlies was amazing. I was really hoping to secure Summer League roster spot and compete against best young players in the world."

Brzovic finished his senior season at Charleston averaging 18.3 points per game on a league-best 54.4 percent shooting percentage. He registered 8.1 rebounds per game, good for fourth in the league. The senior forward produced double-digit scoring in 29 of his 33 starts, including 14 20-point efforts and a trio of 30-point performances.

The Croatian set career highs past season in points and field goals made, both in the Cougars double-overtime thriller vs. Florida Atlantic where he sank the game-winning 3-pointer as time expired.

"My time at Charleston prepared me for my next step in the professional basketball. Coming to Charleston after being a Division II player was the best decision I ever made," said Brzovic. "Charleston means so much to me. It will forever be my home and a place I will always come back to. I was lucky to be coached by coach (Pat) Kelsey and coach (Chris) Mack who believed in me and helped me get to where I am today."

A Native of Belfast, Ireland, Fulton has already become a trailblazer in the sport back home. After earning a spot on the Timberwolves roster, he becomes the first Irish-born, Irish-developed player to earn a spot in the Summer League.

"I never thought I'd be in this position — it was about what contracts or leagues I could get in Europe," said Fulton. "The opportunity came up to work a few NBA workouts, and I obviously couldn't turn those down. It's a crazy position to be in, but I'm just embracing the opportunity."

Fulton earned his first CAA postseason award this past season with a spot on the All-CAA Third Team. Fulton led the nation in assist/turnover ratio from Jan. 11 through the end of the Cougars' season, dishing out at least seven assists 13 times, including five games with 10 or more.

The senior set a career-high with 12 assists at Hofstra, the second most in a single game in school history. His 199 assists this season are the third most in a single season in school history. He averaged 7.6 points per game and 4.0 rebounds per game. He finished the regular season with a season-high 20 points against Delaware.

Fulton was also named the CAA Scholar-Athlete of the Year. A political science major, he boasted a 3.622 GPA.

The Timberwolves will open the NBA 2K26 Summer League on July 10 at 3:30 p.m. against the New Orleans Pelicans. The Grizzlies open the following day on July 11 against the Boston Celtics at 4 p.m.
