The Los Angeles Lakers have seen all sorts of success while being run by the Buss Family over the years. But a short while ago, it was announced that the Buss Family would be selling the team to Mark Walter, the owner of the Los Angeles Dodgers.
This led many around the league to go into a frenzy since nobody expected the Buss Family to sell, at least now. But with Walter coming into the mix, there should be some big changes to how Los Angeles does things.
However, there is one caveat to this entire thing. Despite Walter getting a valuation sale of $10 billion for the Lakers, current governor Jeanie Buss is expected to remain with the team in her current role.
Now it has come out that Jeanie will remain as the Lakers' governor for at least five seasons.
But this isn't sitting well with many fans of the Lakers, as they want a fresh start with Walter at the helm. Many fans took to social media to express frustration over this news.

"Yeah sure lol. If you say it like that. She’s simply gonna be a face. It’s gonna be Walter’s team and his money will be spent on the Lakers. She’ll just be the overseer/“babysitter”. And then she’ll prolly bounce very soon and Walter will take it from there," one fan wrote.
"No one likes you @JeanieBuss," another fan wrote.
Another fan posted, "Lol she really wants to torture us. If you're selling, why would you put this in a contract? Her ego is out of control."
"I just mentally checked out. This is devastating," one fan wrote.
All in all, this is interesting for the Lakers and will be interesting to see how it goes. Many L.A. fans have wanted the Buss Family to sell the team for years, and now the reality is here, even if it takes a few years to fully commence.
