Tottenham have sealed a deal to snap up West Ham ace Mohammed Kudus for a cool £55million, likely putting the kibosh on their chase for Bryan Mbeumo. Kudus, 24, is poised for a medical at Spurs before inking a six-year contract.
The striker will be Thomas Frank's maiden signing since taking the reins as Tottenham manager. Frank had his sights set on bringing Mbeumo over from his old club Brentford, but Manchester United are hot favourites to bag him after the Cameroon international gave Spurs the cold shoulder, expressing his desire to join the Red Devils.
Spurs then shifted their focus to Kudus and, following an initial £50m bid that was knocked back by West Ham last week, the Athletic reveals that the two clubs have now hammered out a deal. The Ghanaian has his heart set on a move to north London and personal terms aren't anticipated to cause any hiccups.

Spurs have managed to clinch a deal well below Kudus' hefty £85m release clause for Premier League teams, which only kicks in for the first 10 days of July. The clause allows continental teams to sign him for £80m, while Saudi Arabian clubs would need to cough up a whopping £120m.

Kudus made the switch to West Ham from Ajax for £38m in 2023. The 24-year-old has clocked up 65 Premier League appearances for the Irons, netting 13 goals and dishing out nine assists, reports the Mirror.
Tottenham have already beefed up their front line by securing Mathys Tel on a permanent £38m deal for six years. The French forward spent the latter half of last season on loan at Spurs from Bayern Munich, playing a key role in their Europa League triumph which put an end to their 17-year trophy famine.

Frank had his sights set on Mbeumo after landing the job, but Tottenham have denied tabling a bid upon discovering his leaning towards United. The former Brentford gaffer is a massive admirer of Mbeumo, who netted a whopping 20 Premier League goals last season, and reckons his old side should hold out for a hefty sum for the winger.
Speaking when he was still Brentford boss, Frank told Sky Sports: "I'm the head coach. I want my best players to stay forever. I know that Bryan is very happy being here at Brentford, he's thriving, doing well and playing fantastic. What happens in the future? I don't know.
"I've said many times: we are a selling club. But at the same time, we have to reinforce that there are 10 clubs in the world that aren't selling clubs. So, of course, if the right price - and that's going to be expensive - is coming, then I'm sure the club will be open for it. But I'm very happy he's here, and I'm convinced that Bryan will still be happy playing football here."
