'Keep an eye on': TFG eyeing 'very ambitious' transfer for Everton after Thierno Barry -…

Everton are set to be perhaps the busiest Premier League club in this summer’s transfer window.

David Moyes could field a very different starting XI in their curtain raiser against Leeds United to what he fielded on the final day of last season.

There have already been some significant developments at Everton, with numerous players departing at the end of their contracts.

Everton are set to announce Thierno Barry as their second signing of the summer, following the permanent addition of Carlos Alcaraz.

The Toffees are keen to bolster their attacking options this summer, and the Friedkins want to make a statement signing for Everton.

With the new American owners keen to put their stamp on the squad, there is some belief that Everton are a side to watch in what could be one of the summer’s most eye-catching deals.

Everton one to watch in Jack Grealish transfer race

As the Blues eye attacking improvements, Everton have shown an interest in Jack Grealish as he looks set to leave Manchester City.

There are a number of issues various Premier League clubs are experiencing in the race for the 29-year-old, with the finances being a huge problem.

Speaking on TalkSPORT, journalist Ben Jacobs has claimed the Toffees are the side to keep an eye on in the pursuit of Grealish.

“Another name I would add to this mix is still Everton. They’re going to be in for a very ambitious window,” said Jacobs.

“Everton’s perspective is they would like a loan. So, if there’s not a solution, as we saw with Kalvin Phillips, for Grealish, and there’s no takers for Grealish at that price, then let’s see whether Manchester City become more open to a loan.

“In which case, I would keep an eye on Everton as they are a serious suitor for Grealish.”

Man City want Grealish’s future sealed by the end of July as they return from their delayed summer break later this month.

A loan move would be the obvious option for Everton this summer as Grealish is valued at £40m and would arrive with a huge weekly wage.

Everton face serious Premier League competition for Grealish

The Toffees are not alone in their interest of the former England international this summer.

A huge few weeks lie ahead of the winger, with Tottenham Hotspur also keen on Grealish, as well as a number of other top European outfits.

This could well mark the statement signing the Friedkins have been dreaming of on Merseyside.

However, it is apparent any deal for Grealish will be an opportunistic one which Everton will have to act decisively on.

Rio Ferdinand has urged Grealish to move to Saudi Arabia, but an ambitious Grealish will surely be eyeing a Premier League move to keep his faint World Cup dreams alive.
