Report: 'Unbelievable' player who Wrexham are desperate to sign could now seal stunning move to …

Wrexham are now one season away from potentially playing Manchester United in a league competition: a feat unthinkable even just a few years ago.

Wrexham have put themselves into a position where one more promotion would land them into the big time.

Last season Wrexham earned a third-straight promotion under Phil Parkinson after finishing in 2nd in the League One table, but now any are tipping the Dragons to stall out as they reach the Championship.

It’s the stop before the Premier League where the quality of teams and players starts to really intensify, and where the money really starts to be thrown around with many of the teams in the league having recently been in the Premier League.

So in order to stand a chance of competing, Wrexham need Premier League quality, and that’s exactly what long-term transfer target Jamie Vardy would bring to the side. Following the 38-year-old Leicester City exit, reports have revealed how Wrexham want to sign Vardy on a free transfer this summer.

Jamie Vardy could land dream Premier League transfer amid Wrexham rumours

There’s been a lot of uncertainty where a move for Vardy is regarded this summer. Wrexham aren’t alone in their interest either: Vardy has offers from the MLS and he could yet seal a Premier League return despite being relegated with Leicester City last season, with the likes of Leeds United and Crystal Palace rumoured to be interested.

But Man United could now be about to sign the former England man. The Sun are reporting that Vardy is among the free agent strikers offer to the Red Devils this summer in what could be a potentially stunning transfer for Vardy, though expect United fans to be thoroughly underwhelmed.

Vardy has recently been linked with a move to Rangers, too, but Gers boss Russell Martin has so far played down a potential move for the striker, who scored 200 goals in 500 total games for the Foxes: legendary former Leicester boss Claudio Ranieri described Vardy as an ‘unbelievable’ player.

What Jamie Vardy wants from his next move, Wrexham is perfect

A season at Man United could be the dream way for Vardy to finish off his career. But it might be a season where he plays a bit part role, coming off the bench late on and doing what he can.

And that surely won’t appeal to him, especially after recent reports revealed that Vardy wants to move to a club where he’ll play regularly, meaning that he’ll likely move abroad or drop down to the Championship.

Wrexham seem like the Championship team most keen on Vardy right now. But it’s thought that he has reservations about potentially playing against his beloved Leicester City next season.

What comes of the striker remains to be seen. Though a move to Man United looks highly unlikely right now, no matter whether they’ve been offered the chance to sign him or not.
