Jerry Jones' Cowboys Netflix Doc Is All About Skip Bayless?

FRISCO - Netflix has unveiled the trailer for the Dallas Cowboys documentary called America’s Team: The Gambler and His Cowboys.

The centerpiece of the project is Jerry Jones. ...

Unless you ask Skip Bayless.

Bayless, who launched his career as a shock-jock journalist in Dallas, is on camera in the trailer for a moment. ... and that's enough to stun smart Cowboys fans who know about his fraudulent connection to the team and his recent defrocking from FS1 while embroiled in a sexual harassment lawsuit that asserts he offered $1.5 million to a co-work to have sex with him.

What are we doing here, Netflix?

What are we doing here, Cowboys?

If you've followed my coverage of the cockroach conman Bayless over the years - I've known him to use devious lies (against everyone from Tom Landry to Troy Aikman and, yes, to Jerry Jones) to further his career - you can guess where he's now taking this.

Bayless is out of work, but his dishonest ego is still fully employed. And so, now, in the wake of the trailer release, he’s claiming that he’ll be playing a major role in the documentary. ...

And something more.

“I’m in the trailer. I assume I’ll play a fairly prominent role in the documentary,” Bayless said. “They did interview me for, I don’t know, six straight hours one Saturday out here in L.A.

"It started to feel like my books were serving almost as a roadmap for this documentary, but I could be wrong.”

That's right: Shamelessly, Bayless is claiming that his nasty series of seedy Cowboys-related books (low-lighted by his clumsy suggestions that Troy Aikman is a homosexual racist who lost games on purpose) are the impetus of the docuseries.

Why would Netflix get in bed with Bayless, even if he appears only briefly? (Especially because the last known person he allegedly tried to get into bed is suing him.)

I have a hard time understanding that.

Why would the Jerry Jones' Cowboys do so ... to the point at which Bayless is almost pretending this is his show and not Jerry's?

I'm having an impossible time understanding that.
