Milwaukee Bucks emerge as suitor for future Hall of Famer

The bulk of NBA free agency is over, but teams like the Milwaukee Bucks are still filling out the roster with key role players who could make a big impact on the upcoming season. Meanwhile, there are still some former All-Star players looking for a team for the 2025-26 NBA season.

One of them is future Hall of Famer Russell Westbrook, who spent last season with the Denver Nuggets but is now a free agent. Westbrook has drawn interest from a number of teams, but now that list has apparently grown.

According to [Clutch Points’ Brett Siegel](https://clutchpoints.com/nba/nba-stories/siegels-scoop-latest-intel-jonathan-kuminga-chris-paul-top-remaining-free-agents), the Bucks are now among the group of teams who are believed to be pursuing Westbrook this offseason.

> “In recent days, another team has suddenly emerged as a possible suitor for Westbrook: the Milwaukee Bucks. The expectation surrounding the Bucks is that they will be utilizing one of their final roster spots to add extra guard depth after bringing back Kevin Porter Jr. and Ryan Rollins in free agency. Given Westbrook’s athleticism and speed, he would be an ideal fit next to Giannis Antetokounmpo on a Bucks team that likes to push the pace in transition.”

Westbrook would help make up for the absence of Damian Lillard, who was already set to miss the season with a torn Achilles before he was bought out from the remainder of his contract with the Bucks. Whether it’s Westbrook or Bradley Beal, the Bucks could use a bit of an extra scoring punch in their backcourt this season.

While Beal may have his eyes on the Clippers, Westbrook could very well be the Bucks’ backup plan.
