Suns’ NBA Cup group includes defending champions OKC Thunder

The NBA Cup groups dropped Tuesday morning, with the Phoenix Suns landing in West Group A.

They’re joined in the group by defending NBA Finals champions Oklahoma City Thunder, Sacramento Kings, Minnesota Timberwolves and Utah Jazz.

Group play games are slated to run from Oct. 31 through Nov. 28. Game and broadcast schedules are expected to be released next month.

Phoenix’s NBA Cup group play road map includes away games against OKC and Sacramento and home tilts versus Minnesota and Utah.

Following group play, eight teams will move onto the knockout rounds. Six will be group winners, plus a wild card in each conference that sport the best record of the second-place finishers in their respective groups.

The teams that get it done in the single-elimination format will then head to Las Vegas for the NBA Cup semifinals and championship game.
