The huge‘obstacle’stopping Ruben Amorim from landing Man Utd striker alternative to Viktor Gyokeres and Victor Osimhen

Manchester United and Ruben Amorim face one major transfer roadblock in landing a replacement target for Napoli’s Victor Osimhen and Sporting CP’s Viktor Gyokeres.

Ruben Amorim had been tipped with a potential reunion with Viktor Gyokeres this summer, having worked closely with the striker during his reign at Sporting CP.

Gyokeres has been linked with United and the 27-year-old Sweden striker has a hefty £85m release clause in his current deal with the Primeira Liga champions.

But United are limited with their spending power and Gyokeres has attracted interest from Arsenal amid the Sporting ace’s desire to play in the Champions League.

Along with United’s interest in Gyokeres, the Red Devils have been linked with Victor Osimhen and the 26-year-old Nigeria striker is tipped to leave Napoli this summer.

Osimhen has attracted United’s interest and has a £64m (€75m) release clause in his current deal with Napoli, but Galatasaray are actively pursuing the Nigerian forward.

Man Utd have been linked with Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic amid their transfer interest in Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres

Manchester United are keen to sign a new striker before the summer transfer window shuts in September and ahead of the 2025-26 Premier League season.

The Red Devils’ interest in the likes of Victor Osimhen and Viktor Gyokeres has also seen other names linked with the club, including Juventus star Dusan Vlahovic.

Dusan Vlahovic has attracted interest from United amid uncertainty around his future at Juventus, with the Old Lady keen to offload the player this summer.

The 25-year-old Serbian striker could reportedly cost United as little as £20m, proving a cheaper alternative to Napoli ace Osimhen and Sporting CP star Gyokeres.

Vlahovic is out of contract with Juventus in 2026 and the Serie A club want to recoup some of the £66.6m transfer fee that they paid to Fiorentina to sign him in 2022.

However, Calciomercato provided an update on the ‘situation’ around Vlahovic and a transfer to Old Trafford ‘remains compromised’ due to one factor at the moment.

Dusan Vlahovic and Juventus’ relationship is leaving the Man Utd-linked striker in a precarious transfer situation this summer

It has been claimed that Dusan Vlahovic is ‘demanding’ a hefty ‘severance package’ for him to leave Italian side Juventus ahead of the new Serie A season.

According to Calciomercato, the relationship between Juventus and the Serbia international is ‘now at loggerheads’ and is producing a standstill in the window.

The outlet added that a ‘point of no return’ has been reached on both sides and Vlahovic’s sizable €12m-a-year salary is a major ‘obstacle’ for Juventus now.

It is believed that the Serbia and Juventus striker has ‘no intention’ of walking away from the money on his contract and remains firm on his demands with the club.

Calciomercato suggested that Vlahovic’s representative will ‘reiterate’ the demand of securing €10m – €5 for them and €5m for the player – before he leaves the club.
