The Green Bay Packers fans have had it pretty good for a long time—over 30 years, to be exact. From 1992 to the present, there has been a nearly constant string of successful seasons, including several playoff runs and two Super Bowl championships. The main reason for that is a glaring superiority at the quarterback position. It started with Brett Favre dismissing Chicago Bears challengers like Erik Kramer, Steve Walsh, Jim Miller, and Rex Grossman. Then it moved to Aaron Rodgers swatting away Jay Cutler, Mitch Trubisky, and Justin Fields.
In the eyes of Packer fans, not much has changed. Jordan Love is the new kid on the block, and he’s clearly superior to anything the Bears have, right? Nope. At least not according to Danny Parkins. The former 670 The Score radio host and now core member on FS1 delivered a bold take in a recent segment. Caleb Williams is already a better quarterback than Love. Based on what he’s seen from the two, the Bears’ starter has demonstrated more capability than anything Green Bay’s franchise QB can offer.
Needless to say, it generated reactions.
Like it or not, the Chicago Bears do have a case.
Williams and Love went toe-to-toe twice last season. Williams had the more efficient performance in the first matchup with over 300 total yards. He would’ve won the game if not for the blocked field goal as time expired. In the rematch during the season finale, Love went down with an injury during the game while Williams led another 4th quarter comeback, this time beating Green Bay on a last-second field goal.

Remember, Williams did all of that despite being at a massive disadvantage in pass protection and coaching. Both of those issues were addressed in the offseason. If Williams and Love face each other on an even playing field this season, what Parkins said may not be seen as insane anymore. The Chicago Bears certainly hope that will be the case.
