Pittsburgh Steelers are done adding to their roster, insider says

Could the Pittsburgh Steelers be done adding to their roster after trading for Jalen Ramsey and Jonnu Smith? ESPN insider Adam Schefter believes that might be the case.

In an interview on Wednesday, Schefter broke down the Steelers’ moves, and he is not sure there is an obvious one they can make.

“I think they’re always looking, but I think they’ve made their moves,” Schefter said on the Rothman & Ice show. “I don’t have any more moves they can make. They’ve made a ton of moves so far.”

The two moves the Steelers could make would be adding a wide receiver and a safety. Aside from Juan Thornhill, the team is lacking depth at free safety. At wide receiver, they still have a hole after trading George Pickens, though Smith can help ease that transition.

As for who they could add, the obvious answer is wide receiver Gabe Davis, who the Steelers hosted for a visit in June. He is still recovering from knee surgery after tearing his meniscus in Jacksonville. The Jaguars released Davis with a failed physical designation.

There are still other safeties out on the open market, too. Players such as Julian Blackmon, Marcus Williams, Jordan Whitehead, and Justin Simmons could all be viable options for the Steelers as they round out their roster.
