The Mystics are playing well recently. They just beat the Chicago Sky in a nail-biter, and are now one game under .500 at 9-10.
On the other side, the Las Vegas Aces are 9-9.
Whoever wins this game will have a better record, and the Mystics will edge up in the standings with a victory. Moreover, with the season series at 1-1, whoever wins this one also will have a good chance at the tie-breaker (the fourth and last game is scheduled for late August).
Shakira Austin and Brittney Sykes are playing well. Sonia Citron and Kiki Iriafen just got named All-Stars. A lot to be optimistic about if you are a Mystics fan.
Optimism aside, this will be a tougher challenge than squeaking a win against the Chicago Sky at home. The Aces are a better team right now. The Mystics did have a great win almost two weeks ago against the Aces on the road. But they also lost to them back in May.
