'Here we go': Arsenal-linked 'complete' striker now set for £58m move to Saudi Arabia - Romano

Arsenal are in the process of bolstering their attacking ranks as Mikel Arteta looks to increase his firepower ahead of next season.

TBR Football recently revealed that personal terms between Arsenal and Viktor Gyokeres have been agreed on a £200,000-a-week contract.

In addition, reports have emerged claiming Arsenal have made a bid for Noni Madueke, who has agreed personal terms over a move to the Gunners.

However, another player who was linked with a summer move to Arsenal is now in line for a move to the Saudi Pro League, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Arsenal-linked Mateo Retegui set for Al Qadsiah move

Earlier this year, Arsenal placed Atalanta forward Mateo Retegui on their summer wishlist, according to reports.

TBR Football exclusively revealed that Arsenal were offered the chance to sign Retegui in January, but the move never materialised in the end.

But while the Gunners reportedly considered revisiting a move for Retegui, it looks as though they have now missed the boat.

Romano has reported that Retegui is now set for a €67million (around £58million) move to Al Qadsiah.

The Italy international will allegedly earn a salary over six times what he earned at Atalanta.

According to Salarysport, Retegui is on £73,000-a-week, so he could be in line for over £438,000-a-week at Al Qadsiah.

The latest around Viktor Gyokeres and Benjamin Sesko

While Retegui is a top talent who has been described as a “complete player”, Arsenal have higher priorities in terms of attacking targets.

Arsenal’s full focus now is on signing Gyokeres, and if that deal gets over the line, their interest in Benjamin Sesko will likely end.

Sesko was the striker Arsenal wanted, but after a deal to sign the RB Leipzig star proved to be tricky, Andrea Berta flew out to Lisbon in pursuit of Gyokeres.

Sources at RB Leipzig have suggested that some wiggle room remained for Arsenal in their pursuit of Sesko.

According to The Athletic, ‘there was still room for further negotiations over both the fee and the 22-year-old’s salary’.

However, it looks as though Gyokeres will be Arsenal’s next frontman – if everything goes according to plan.
