This month,CaughtOffside reported that Ékitiké has emerged as Liverpool’s top transfer target, according to sources.
Ékitiké is reportedly aware that Liverpool may need to offload players before making a move and is said to be willing to wait while the club clears space in the squad.
Liverpool had initially targeted Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak due to his proven Premier League track record. However, negotiations have been complicated, with Newcastle setting a £150 million price tag on the Swedish international and showing little interest in selling.
