Liverpool remain interested in a summer move for Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike, journalist Fabrizio Romano has revealed.
The Premier League champions have reportedly been ‘calling for weeks’ to stay updated on the 23-year-old forward’s developing situation in Germany, as several clubs are keen on his arrival.
Ekitike is believed to be prioritising a move to England this summer and may end up with several options on the table, with Newcastle and Chelsea also among his admirers.
Saudi Pro League clubs have been made aware that the Frenchman is not interested in a move to the Middle East, as he wants to play Premier League football next season.

Romano, speaking on his YouTube channel, has revealed that Liverpool are among the clubs staying informed on Ekitike’s situation, along with Newcastle and Chelsea:
“There is movement on Hugo Ekitike, with interest from Saudi, but the priority of the player remains England.
“And with Newcastle interested in Hugo Ekitike, there is still interest also from more clubs.
“Because clubs like Liverpool, Chelsea have been calling for the player for weeks, since June, for example, being informed on the situation of Hugo Ekitike.
“Newcastle are also interested in the player, and so we will see what's going to happen with the Eintracht striker this summer transfer window.”
Ekitike, who joined Frankfurt from Paris Saint-Germain permanently last year, enjoyed a breakout season in Germany, scoring 22 goals and providing 12 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions.
The £60m-rated Frenchman ended the Bundesliga campaign on a particularly strong run of form, registering six goal contributions in his final six games.
Liverpool have splashed out heavily on new signings this summer, with deals confirmed for Jeremie Frimpong, Florian Wirtz and Milos Kerkez.
The Reds are anticipated to bring in a new striker before the transfer window shuts and could potentially replace Darwin Nunez, who remains a target for Serie A champions Napoli.
