Harvey Elliott is now considered “certain” to leave Liverpool during the summer transfer window with at least five teams set to vie for his signature.

That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 22-year-old is keen to play regular minutes as a key player at his next club.

Brighton have now been joined by Tottenham and Newcastle among other suitors for the midfielder in the wake of his performances at the Under-21 Euros.

Football Insider revealed on 2 July that RB Leipzig and Dortmund are interested in Elliott and have joined the race to tempt him away from Anfield.

The England Under-21 star has started just two Premier League games under Arne Slot, both of which came after the Reds wrapped up the title.

As a result, Brown told Football Insider that Elliott is unhappy with his role at Liverpool and is keen to leave in search of more regular first-team football.

Harvey Elliott update emerges as Liverpool exit nears

Brown told Football Insider in April that Premier League clubs are racing to sign Elliott as multiple clubs have been put on alert by his potential availability.

The former scout who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that the interested clubs were keeping tabs on his progress with England’s Under-21s.

“Harvey Elliott is going to leave Liverpool, it’s certain,” he told Football Insider.

“It’s something we’ve spoken about for a while and now it’s just a question of where he goes.

“There’s no shortage of interest in him, and he’s got the likes of Brighton, Newcastle, Tottenham and a few clubs in Germany having a look at him too.

“I think he could be an asset to any of those clubs because he’s a very talented player.

“These clubs will have been watching him with England’s Under-21s and after seeing the way he played in that side, they’re now prepared to make a move.

“He doesn’t have much of a place at Liverpool any more, so they’re ready to let him go.

“Wherever he goes, he wants to play more regularly because he’s not been happy at Liverpool.”

Marc Guehi update emerges after Ben Doak swap verdict

Aside from potential departures at Anfield, there has also been a focus on strengthening Slot’s options, particularly at the back as they set their sights on Marc Guehi.

Brown told Football Insider that Liverpool had considered offering Ben Doak to Palace in a part-exchange deal for Guehi, but the Eagles are unlikely to agree.

While the Eagles have a long-held interest in Doak, there is a feeling that any swap deal would also have to include a significant cash sum to make it worth while.

This comes after Football Insider revealed on 1 July that Palace would prefer a cash offer for Guehi rather than a swap deal for their captain this summer.
