Bayern Munich could be back in the race for Crystal Palace attacking midfielder Eberechi Eze, who is reportedly close to joining Arsenal.
The Gunners have been very active in the summer window, having already signed Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad.
The north London giants are also close to signing Christian Norgaard from Brentford, and have submitted a formal offer for Chelsea’s Noni Madueke.
Mikel Arteta’s side is also in the race to sign Eze, but they could face strong competition from Bayern, who have shortlisted the 27-year-old as one of their targets after missing out on Florian Wirtz and Nico Williams.

Eze joined Palace in the summer of 2020, and he has developed into a key player for the Eagles. Last season, he scored 14 goals in all competitions and helped the club win the FA Cup. In total, he has scored 39 goals for Palace since making his debut.
According to sources at Caughtoffside, Arsenal have offered a £45m upfront fee with performance-related add-ons to bring the total package close to Eze’s £67.5m release clause. Meeting personal terms would not be a major issue.
Bayern were linked with a move for Eze during the early part of the summer window, but the German giants never made any concrete approach.
Christian Falk has**informed CfBayern that Eze is not a top priority for Bayern at the moment, nor is the player particularly keen on moving to Germany.
Luis Diaz emerges as top target for Bayern
The German giants need to bolster their forward areas after Leroy Sane left the club as a free agent and Jamal Musiala was ruled out for four months following a serious injury.
Eze is a fantastic player, no doubt, but Bayern have other targets in mind.
Liverpool winger Luis Diaz has emerged as their top priority target in recent weeks, after the club failed to land the likes of Williams and Bradley Barcola.
