Chelsea’s very clear message to Arsenal during negotiations over Noni Madueke - Fabrizio Romano

Chelsea have been locked in talks with London rivals Arsenal after the news emerged that they could be about to sign another Blue.

The Gunners have already completed a deal to sign Kepa Arrizabalaga in order to play regularly, however much Chelsea would secretly want that.

Noni Madueke would be a far more painful loss as far as Enzo Maresca’s side are concerned, with him still making appearances up until now in the Club World Cup.

However, the winger has agreed personal terms over a switch across London, and it looks as if their manager has played a key role in convincing him that the move is the right one for him.

Chelsea tell Arsenal they want more than £50m to part ways with Noni Madueke

Mikel Arteta privately reached out to Madueke to speak to him about the move, and it now looks as if it is a matter of time before that move is confirmed.

However, Chelsea are not desperate to sell the England international, and are sitting pretty firm on their own valuation of the player.

Fabrizio Romano has claimed that Arsenal have sent a bid in the region of £50m to Chelsea, however the Blues have made it clear that the Blues are holding out for more than this.

He said: ”Arsenal sent a first bid to Chelsea for Noni Madueke. Arsenal presented a bid, from what I’m told is £50m. Add ons included. Chelsea want more. Chelsea want to start from £50m and go over this, including maybe some add ons. Chelsea are using Anthony Elanga as a reference point.”

Chelsea still considering Madueke replacement

Despite bringing in Liam Delap, Joao Pedro and Jamie Gittens to revolutionise their attack for the new season, reports have claimed they are not done yet.

The Blues were strongly linked with signing Mohammed Kudus this summer, however the West Ham man is now set to join Tottenham.

Morgan Rogers has also cropped up as somewhat of a dream signing for Chelsea, with him likely to cost a serious amount of money due to Aston Villa easing their PSR situation with the sale of their women’s team.

Alejandro Garnacho has been a target of the club in the past too, and with Manchester United desperate to get rid of him, it can’t be discounted that the Blues could return for him this summer.
