Man United are reportedly considering signing a goalkeeper to replace Andre Onana this summer.

Recent reports have said that Manchester United want to replace Andre Onana after a poor season in goal last year. He has been subject to transfer interest from French Ligue 1 side Monaco, with United pricing him at £30m.

Man United keen on £17m West Ham target

Fresh reports have suggested that United have identified a new target as an alternative to Martinez, who is considerably younger, but he does still have a lot of experience, despite his age.

Parma goalkeeper Zion Suzuki is reportedly a target for the Red Devils alongside Premier League rivals. According to TBR, United are admirers of the Japanese international, who West Ham have reportedly made contact with.

He has an estimated market value of around €20m, equating to just over £17m. The 22-year-old made 37 appearances last year, conceding 53 goals and keeping an impressive eight clean sheets for Parma.

The report suggests that Suzuki isn’t looking for a move away this summer, and so West Ham and Manchester United would have to be persuasive if they want to bring the Japan international in.

If the Red Devils were to sign him, they would likely start Onana initially, but with a potential view to replacing him with the 22-year-old if his form is similar to last year for the Red Devils.

Despite being just 22, Suzuki has already made 18 appearances for Japan and is set to enter next year’s World Cup as the first choice, something that could raise his price tag significantly, after more teams are exposed to him.

Man United “increasingly likely” to keep Onana

Following the links to both Suzuki and Martinez, Onana has returned to Carrington and Manchester United training, with the expectation that he will be playing for the Red Devils next year.

It has been said that Onana is “increasingly likely” to stay and that manager Amorim is reportedly happy with him despite his mistake-prone season. Perhaps the most telling moment for Onana last year was his duo of mistakes in the Europa League quarter-final against Lyon.

But, for all the talk around potential replacements for the Cameroonian stopper, if United do sign someone, they will likely have to compete for the number one shirt with Onana, as he looks set to stay.
