Wolves set to make offer for CWC star – Player keen on such a transfer

Wolverhampton Wanderers are preparing an offer for Jhon Arias, [as reported by Globo Esporte](https://ge.globo.com/futebol/times/fluminense/noticia/2025/07/09/wolverhampton-acena-com-proposta-e-tem-interesse-em-arias-do-fluminense.ghtml) in Brazil.

The Fluminense winger, who stood out during the Club World Cup, has attracted interest from several European clubs, but Wolves are said to be leading the race.

According to the report, representatives from the Premier League side have already reached out to Fluminense to gather more details about the 27-year-old and indicated that an official bid could arrive in the coming days.

The Brazilian club are not keen to sell, but Arias has made no secret of his desire to play in Europe.

“I believe everyone knows, I’m very transparent and honest. Like every player, I dream of playing in Europe and reaching the elite. But until my last day at Fluminense, I’ll fight and respect the club and fans,” he said after the Club World Cup elimination to Chelsea.

“Proposals are up to the club’s board and the president. You never know what the future holds. I’m still here, under a long contract, and happy”, he added.

Arias renewed his contract with Fluminense on February, with it now running until mid-2028, and became the club’s highest-paid player following a salary increase.

Despite that, people close to the player believe this is the right time for him to make the move to Europe. His priority is to play in the Premier League, and Wolves’ approach is seen as significant.

The Colombian has made 229 appearances for Fluminense, scoring 47 goals and delivering 55 assists. He’s widely regarded as one of the best players in the continent, and helped the Rio de Janeiro side win the 2023 Copa Libertadores.

His brilliant work hasn’t gone unnoticed. Globo Esporte also claim that the best offer Flu received so far reportedly came from Zenit Saint Petersburg, worth around €12m (approximately £10.2m), but was turned down by the player.

The next steps now depend on whether Wolves follow up their interest with a formal bid – something expected in the short term.
