Wolves are plotting ambitious move for Club World Cup superstar likened to Pele, talks are…

Wolves risk trailing behind in the summer transfer window if they don’t start ticking off their plans.

Wolves have only signed Fer Lopez from Celta Vigo so far, while seeing eight players exit Molineux, including Matheus Cunha and Rayan Ait-Nouri.

Fans will be worried about the lack of transfer activity, as even newly promoted Leeds United, Sunderland, and Burnley are all making smart additions to their squads.

To quell any pessimism ahead of the 2025/26 campaign, Fosun must splash the cash, and luckily, Wolves do have signings in the pipeline.

One of those could be a player who has starred at the Club World Cup this summer and is ready for a move to the Premier League.

Arias is capable of playing in any role across the frontline, making him an ideal addition for Vitor Pereira, with many statistics also showcasing his talent.

In 2025, the Colombian metronome has amassed four goals and 13 assists in all competitions, which demonstrates his creative abilities.

A former teammate of Wolves midfielder Andre at Fluminense, Arias would be welcomed with open arms at Molineux as a potential game-changer in the final third and arguably someone who could fill Cunha’s void.

Fluminense are demanding £44 million for Arias

According to South American football expert Igor, Arias would cost Wolves around £44 million this summer, as Fluminense do not want to sell the player whose contract expires in June 2028.

Most expensive signings Wolves have made

1. Matheus Cunha – £44m, from Atletico Madrid

2. Matheus Nunes – £42.2m, from Sporting CP

3. Fabio Silva – £35m, from FC Porto

4. Raul Jimenez – £30m, from Benfica

5. Nelson Semedo – £29m, from Barcelona

6. Goncalo Guedes – £27.5m, from Valencia

7. Andre – £21m, from Fluminense

Igor also believes Arias is the best talent in South America, comparing his skillset to one of the greatest players of all time, Pele.

He told Football Faithful: “Arias probably hasn’t moved to Europe yet, because the president of Fluminense is working hard to keep him at the club, knowing that he is currently the best player in South American football.

“After the Club World Cup, where the entire planet knows Arias’ brilliant football, I am very concerned about the clubs’ interest and interest in the player. I believe that we are going to lose him.

“The value of Jhon Arias, a player affectionately nicknamed “Colombian Pelé”, is immeasurable. If it happens, it has to be for a value as high as Fluminense’s prize money in the World Cup.”
