Valencia’s Cristhian Mosquera is hoping to join Arsenal this summer.
With a contract lasting until 2026, the centre-back has rejected a renewal offer and asked Valencia to negotiate with the Gunners.
The La Liga club have rejected Arsenal’s initial bid of €15m and are requesting €25m. This was reported by Plaza Deportiva two days ago and they also stated Los Ches are waiting for the Premier League side to make an improved offer.
Thursday’s edition of Superdeporte covers Mosquera when discussing the Spanish club’s plans to renew some of their players’ contracts. Agents are set to meet Valencia CEO Ron Gourlay later today.
The report states the 21-year-old’s representative hasn’t been summoned to the club’s office this morning, but he’s expected to have a call with Gourlay.
It’s claimed Valencia have been forced to bring this meeting forward given Mosquera’s contract expires in 2026 and because of Arsenal’s interest. He has told his club to negotiate his sale to the Premier League side.
At this moment in time, the Spain U21 international’s case is on ‘stand by’ because Mikel Arteta’s side haven’t made an improved offer after their €15m bid was rejected.
Deporte Valenciano claims Arsenal ‘don’t seem willing to extend their hand’, meaning they aren’t open to improving their offer.
If they don’t meet Valencia’s request of €20m [with Superdeporte having it at €5m less than quoted by Plaza Deportivo], Mosquera ‘has a problem’ as he could be left in limbo after rejecting Valencia’s renewal offer.
