Although Arsenal fans have become obsessed with their search for a new striker, one deal the club have agreed has gone almost under the radar.
Scottish teenager Callan Hamill has completed his move from St. Johnstone to Arsenal.
The clubs agreed on the transfer fee of ₤100,000 plus add-ons back in February, but he could only formally make the move once he had passed his 16th birthday.
Despite that, he has featured in a number of youth games since, flying back and forth between England and Scotland.
He still had time to make what is likely to be his one and only senior appearance for the Scottish Premier League club, coming on as a late substitute in a league defeat to Dundee.
Hamill is predominantly a centre-back, although he has also played as a right-back, and has even appeared as a central midfielder.
He has won four caps for Scotland at under-17 level.

He loves all sports but football is his abiding passion, and he still has dreams every now and then about scoring the winning goal in a Wembley Cup Final, even though his playing days are long gone. He follows most major leagues, across Europe at least, and has a favoured team in each. When he’s not watching, listening, reading or downloading podcasts about football, he spend his time worrying about his beloved Arsenal.
