Liverpool have been linked with a whole host of players already this summer.
Arne Slot managed to lead the Anfield outfit to the Premier League title at the first time of asking last season, which far exceeded everyone’s expectations.
The Dutchman managed to bring Jurgen Klopp’s team together and squeezed every last bit of performance out of them to ensure they ended the season as champions.
In the 2025-26 season, however, Slot will not only want to retain the Premier League title but he’ll also want to get further into the Champions League than he did last time around.

This means that new faces are going to have to be brought in, and after Liverpool were recently linked with a move for Rodrygo, fans have started to get excited about what their team could look like this term.
Xabi Alonso shares that there was a ‘technical’ reason Rodrygo didn’t start against Paris Saint-Germain
During the last five Club World Cup games Real Madrid have played, Rodrygo didn’t start a single one of them.
The attacker has been cast aside by Alonso during his tenure with the Spaniard preferring the likes of Vinicius Junior and Gonzalo Garcia over him.
However, in quotes relayed by Fabrizio Romano’s X account, it seems like the Brazilian being benched isn’t due to his future.

Rodrygo would thrive within Liverpool’s ranks if he were to join
Now that Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez both seem to be on their way out of Liverpool, there’s no denying that Slot will need attacking reinforcement.
Indeed, Mohamed Salah and Cody Gakpo would still likely be the Dutchman’s first-choice wingers, but with only Federico Chiesa left at Anfield to cover the flanks, it’s clear that some new faces need to be brought in.
Rodrygo is only 24 years old, which means that he still has plenty of time to grow and become even better than he already is.
The Brazilian can play on either wing and even as a striker if he’s needed to.
This sort of versatility would allow him to thrive within Slot’s first-team squad and perhaps allow him to get back to his best.
Only time will tell what the future has in store, but of all the targets Liverpool have been linked with this summer, Rodrygo feels like the most exciting.
