2025 has been a formative year for Myles Lewis-Skelly. He quickly became a regular starter for Mikel Arteta, he scored a goal on his England debut, and throughout it all, he has remained humble – just ask Erling Haaland.

But nothing says you’ve made it to the big time quite like getting the call up to attend Wimbledon. And there are few things the British public love more than A-listers taking their mums to SW19.

Becks has made it an annual ritual of his to take his mother, Sandra, to Wimbledon on day one and it seems Myles Lewis-Skelly is following suit as he was spotted having a lovely time in the hospitality area on Centre Court with his mum, Marcia.

While Lewis-Skelly’s origin story was one of the best things about the 2024/25 football season – as his agent, Marcia was heavily involved in her son’s rise to become Arsenal’s starting left back – we do wonder whether he’s at all au fait with the origin story of the gorgeous Santos de Cartier he decided to debut at Wimbledon.

It’s the first time we’ve spotted Lewis-Skelly rocking some serious wrist candy. It coincides with him signing a new deal to keep him at the Gunners until 2030, so perhaps we are looking at a new purchase to celebrate that contract?

Given the amount of grails he would have seen kicking around the England and Arsenal dressing rooms – Declan Rice and Bukayo Sako could both feasibly be Lewis-Skelly’s horological influence – it’s no surprise to see the youngster dropping circa £10k on a watch. In a yellow gold Cartier Santos Dumont XL, he has made a solid choice. It has a bit of everything – winning heritage, bling, presence – while not being too showy or ridiculous. For example, had he slurped on a Richard Mille for his first proper watch, we’d be telling a different story. Behind the Santos Dumont lies a story of courage and innovation, the creation of which changed the course of wristwatches back in 1904. The design traits of the Santos remain true to its OG roots, something Myles “Stay Humble” Lewis-Skelly is bound to dig.

Technically, it’s also a good jumping off point for getting into watches as it’s a quartz movement, which means you don’t have to worry about how mechanisms work and self-winding tips aren’t yet required. But aesthetically it’s up there with the best looking watches. It’s 43.5mm yellow gold case is the attention grabber but the razor sharp hands and sexy Roman numerals lay on some great assists too. If there's one bone of contention, it's the fact he could have chosen a Cartier with a red ruby set in the crown (Arsenal colours of course) rather than the blue cabochon-shaped spinel on his.

Judging by the ease with which he pulls off rocking a watch – paired with a brown vest and cream T-shirt to show off his wrists – it’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more watches on this baller’s wrist in years to come.
