Brighton ‘have reached agreement’ for exit – Terms of deal becoming clear

Earlier this week, we covered claims from Italy which stated Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson is on AS Roma’s shortlist.

The Serie A club seem have to be focusing on the 20-year-old and have made advances to secure his services this summer.

That’s according to Thursday’s edition of Corriere dello Sport, who state Roma sporting director Frederic Massara has decided to bet on the Brighton player.

It’s further claimed the Italian club have ‘reached an agreement’ with the Seagulls to sign the striker on a loan deal with an option to buy. The report adds Gian Piero Gasperini’s side will cover his salary of €1.8m per year.

Corriere suggest there could be a buyback option for the Premier League club, and this will only be applicable if Roma were to make Ferguson’s stay permanent.

Roma are currently one step away from finalising the operation for the Brighton player. The Republic of Ireland’s approval is needed, which he hasn’t given yet as he’s analysing offers.

The option of playing under Gasperini in Serie A intrigues Ferguson, who is looking to redeem himself after going through a difficult period since suffering a serious injury in April 2024.

If Ferguson gives the green light, Roma can quickly wrap up his signing.
