A former Ohio State basketball player has broken an NBA record: Buckeye Breakfast

COLUMBUS, Ohio -- Form Ohio State basketball player Brice Sensabaugh has broken an NBA record.

The former one-and-done star scored 37 points whilee playing for the Utah Jazz’s Summer League team in a 112-111 win over the Memphis Grizzles on Monday night. He made 9 of 14 sos — include six 3-point attempts — while making all but one of is 14 free attempts.

It’s the most points ever scored in a Salt Lake City Summer League game.

This summer has provided Sensabaugh a chance to get extended minutes to build on the momentum from a strong second year in the NBA. Once the No. 28 pick in the 2023 NBA draft, he broke out the back half of this season. He scored in double figures in 23 of the Jazz’s final 28 games.

He averaged 10.9 points in 71 games last year.

Sensabaugh spent just one season with Ohio StateATE in 2022-23, averaging a team-high 16.3 points for a team who missed the NCAA Tournament. He’s joined by E.J. Liddell (Denver Nuggets) and Micah Harrison (Chicago Bulls) as former Buckeyes playing no Summer League teams.

NBA movement

Former Ohio State basketball player Malaki Branham is on the move after three seasons.

The former Big Ten Freshman of the Year has been traded to the Washington Wizards on Tuesday along with fellow 2022 first-round pick Blake Wesley and a 2026 second-round pick in exchange for veteran big man Kelly Olynyk.

Branham was once the No. 22 pick in the NBA Draft marking the first time since 2015 that a Buckeye had gone in the first round. He’s averaged 8.5 points on 43.9% shooting over the past three seasons.
