Man United are ready to cut their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho after struggling to drum up interest, according to their former senior scout.
Mick Brown, who worked at Old Trafford for over a decade during the club’s most successful period and remains very well-connected there, exclusively told Football Insider that Ruben Amorim’s actions have made the 21-year-old’s sale difficult.
While a number of clubs including Chelsea are keeping a close eye on the winger’s situation, his current asking price has deterred anybody from making a formal offer.
Brown told Football Insider in May that Amorim is forcing Garnacho out of Man United following a public bust-up over his playing time last season.
However, that has put the club in a weak negotiating position and will force them to accept offers below the winger’s original market value.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 19 June that Man United are hoping for a bidding war so that they can drive up the price for the wantaway winger.

Alejandro Garnacho exit faces stumbling block at Man United
Brown told Football Insider on 22 June that Garnacho wants to stay in the Premier League and has instructed his agent to help him remain in England.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment and also worked for the likes of Aston Villa, Tottenham and West Ham, explained that rival clubs will aim to take advantage of the situation with low-ball bids.
“*Man United are in a very tricky position,*” he told Football Insider.
“With Garnacho’s situation, let’s compare it to if you’re trying to sell a car.
“If you go around saying you want to sell it because you’re fed up with it, it’s got all these issues and keeps breaking down, nobody will want to buy it from you.
“That’s where United are with Garnacho at the moment, saying he’s a bad influence and all of that.
“It’s been well-documented that they want to move him on because he’s had a falling out with Ruben Amorim and he’s not part of the plans.
“But why would anybody go and pay big money for him, knowing they want him gone?
“So at the asking price Man United are looking for, there isn’t any interest at the moment.
“They’ve had clubs like Chelsea sniffing around, but they will look at it and think they can get him for cheaper than they were maybe expecting.
“United are in a terrible negotiating position, everybody knows they need to move him on.
“Clubs like Chelsea will look to take advantage of that, so United might be forced to cut their losses and drop his asking price to match the demand.”

Marcus Rashford update emerges at Old Trafford
Garnacho is not the only want-away star whose future remains a key talking point this summer, as Marcus Rashford is still seeking an exit from Old Trafford.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 9 July that Rashford’s exit from Man United could drag on until later in the window due to his asking price.
His £40million price tag is believed to be prohibitive for a number of interested clubs on top of his lofty wages which are also causing issues.
Meanwhile, Brown told Football Insider on 19 May that Rashford is ready for another loan move if a long-term solution cannot be found.
