Callum Wilson still feels 'hungry' as the former Newcastle United star targets a move to a Premier League club.
The free agent confirmed earlier this week that he was leaving Newcastle following five years at St James' Park.
Wilson has also finished up his stint as a pundit for DAZN at the Club World Cup in the U.S. to 'go back to do some fitness work'.
When asked if he would soon be returning to the Premier League, Wilson, tellingly, turned away and laughed.
"I mean, obviously, I have ambitions," the 33-year-old said following links to Burnley and Leeds United.
"I'm close to getting 100 goals and that's something I'd like to achieve. I still feel fit and hungry."
Wilson bagged 88 top-flight goals for Newcastle and Bournemouth, and the veteran has repeatedly spoken about his target of joining the 'exclusive club' over the years.
Only 34 players have notched a century of goals in the Premier League to date as Wilson bids to follow in the footsteps of Alan Shearer, Harry Kane, Wayne Rooney, Andy Cole and Mohamed Salah.
Although Wilson only made a couple of league starts during an injury-disrupted final season at Newcastle, the former England international is not giving up on that dream.
Wilson even shared a joke with Chelsea boss Enzo Maresca after watching Joao Pedro fire the Blues into the Club World Cup final.
"Enzo, I was going to offer my services, but it seems like you don't need them now Joao is there!" he quipped.
