Manchester United has shook up the summer transfer window with a move for Real Madrid midfielder Aurelien Tchouameni.
Man United Eye Tchouameni Despite Madrid Stance
As per journalist Eduardo Inda, Manchester United are keeping their eyes on Tchouameni this summer. The Red Devils have reportedly made an offer worth £78m (€90m). They want to sign the 24-year-old who is viewed as amongst the best midfielders in Europe. Utd are looking towards the Santiago Bernabeu as they bid to bring in the Frenchman.
The star midfielder has impressed for both club and country and is considered a key part of Real Madrid’s future. New Madrid head coach Xabi Alonso reportedly sees him as “untouchable,”. He has already made the player a fixture in his starting eleven when he loaned him out during the Club World Cup.
As a defensive midfielder or a centre-back, Tchouameni was a great asset during injury breaks for the squad. Given his importance to the team, Real are unlikely to let him leave, no matter how tempting the offer.
Utd’s Transfer Drive Continues
Madrid have firm stance on the matter. But, United are pressing ahead with their transfer plans. So far, their only summer signing has been forward Matheus Cunha. Though more new arrivals are likely.
Man Utd have also had two bids turned down for Brentford star Bryan Mbeumo as they continue searching for more firepower. Interestingly, the club has also been linked with Madrid’s Rodrygo. The winger seems more likely to move given his struggle for regular minutes under manager Alonso.
However, signing Tchouameni may not be that easy. But, Man Utd want top talent and are willing to spend big to get it. The window is heating up, and fans will be watching closely to see if this major move becomes a reality.
