Loans are a perfect opportunity for underused youngsters to develop their game and we’ve picked out five Premier League players who would benefit this season.
Tyrique George – Chelsea
Even amid the stockpiling of talent at Chelsea, Tyrique George managed to managed to enjoy something of a breakthrough season. The 19-year-old was a regular in the club’s Europa Conference League campaign and netted twice for the senior side in 2024/25.
The problem for the Cobham product is that Chelsea are showing no sign of slowing down their relentless recruitment. Jamie Gittens has arrived as direct competition from Borussia Dortmund, while Joao Pedro and Liam Delap have bolstered other areas of the frontline.

Even if Christopher Nkunku and Noni Madueke move on, there’s unlikely to be a huge amount of minutes for the teenager next season. A loan could be the perfect solution for a player of real promise.
Youssef Chermiti – Everton
Youssef Chermiti’s second season at Everton was plagued by fitness issues, with the 21-year-old totalling just 42 minutes of Premier League football.
The Portugal u-21 international is regarded highly on Merseyside but a lack of football has stunted his development.
Everton’s £27m signing of Thierno Barry has provided a significant obstacle to his path to first-team football, which coupled with Beto’s renaissance could leave minutes scarce.
The 6ft 4in forward has plenty of attractive attributes for sides searching for a focal point next season.
Oscar Bobb – Manchester City
Oscar Bobb looked on the verge of becoming a Manchester City regular during last season’s pre-season campaign. A series of eye-catching performances pushed him into Pep Guardiola’s plans, only for a fractured leg to derail his season.

Bobb returned to feature sporadically during the run-in but a season spent largely on the sidelines has left him itching for regular football.
With Rayan Cherki added to City’s ranks this summer and Phil Foden, Omar Marmoush, Savinho and Jeremy Doku as competition for a wide role, a loan move could suit all parties. The Norwegian is too good to spend another season watching on.
Chido Obi – Manchester United
Chido Obi left Arsenal for Manchester United citing a clearer pathway to first-team football. He made seven senior appearances and in May became the youngest player to start a Premier League game for the club, aged 17 years, 156 days.
However, United are expected to sign a senior centre-forward this summer and Obi may need a temporary move to find regular men’s football.
With a frightening goalscoring record ay youth level, it will be fascinating to see how he adjusts to senior action.
Mikey Moore – Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur have an academy brimming with talent and Mikey Moore might be the best of the lot. The 17-year-old made 19 senior appearances under Ange Postecoglou and was even compared to Neymar by teammate James Maddison for one European performance.
Moore has bags of potential but needs minutes to fulfil his promise. Spurs have signed Mathys Tel on a permanent deal this summer, while Mohammed Kudus is on the cusp of arriving from West Ham United.
Moore will have no shortage of suitors if Spurs sanction a loan exit.
