CLEVELAND, Ohio - Mayor Justin Bibb opened the door Wednesday to asking Browns owners Dee and Jimmy Haslam to help pay for demolition of the lakefront football stadium if the team goes forward with plans to leave the city for a new suburban indoor stadium.
“It is my hope that the Haslams and the Browns will be good corporate citizens and make sure there is a smooth transition for them leaving our city and going to Brook Park,” Bibb said, in response to a direct question about how the city would pay for tearing down the existing stadium.
