Leeds United need to trim their squad down ahead of their return to the Premier League.
While most of the focus is on incomings at Elland Road this summer, some attention needs to be placed towards those on the fringes of Daniel Farke’s squad.
Junior Firpo’s exit has already been confirmed, though several others could move on from the Whites if offers come in.
Depth will be important, but it needs to be adequate, with Patrick Bamford likely to be one of those to leave in the coming weeks.

Bamford all but set for Elland Road exit
Farke opted against rotating his team much last season, and the main reason behind that was down to the lack of quality outside of his starting 11.

Leeds will look to rectify that this summer, though Paul Robinson thinks it could come at a cost for some players.
Speaking exclusively to MOT Leeds News, he said: “If a goalkeeper is brought in, I think Illan Meslier will move on. I think it’s needed for him as well. He needs a fresh start as well as Leeds need a fresh start.
“I think, potentially, Matteo Joseph could be one that moves on, as much as I like him. I think he’s a good player. There were bids that came in for him in January. Patrick Bamford will be another one.

“People forget about Jack Harrison. He’s come back from Everton but he obviously doesn’t fit with a manager. So I’m surprised that Everton haven’t made that move permanently. Leeds paid £10 million for him. Whether they get the same type of money in return, I’m not sure.
“Sam Greenwood is another who could leave as is Joe Gelhardt. So that’s at least six with Bamford, Joseph, Harrison and Meslier, where the manager’s probably willing to cut the cloth.”

Premier League experience will be required
Leeds’ business so far has been somewhat underwhelming, though the likelihood is that it will accelerate over the coming weeks, with players moving on.
The Whites need proven quality in their starting 11, with a lot of work still to be done between now and the start of the campaign.
