Position Reset for '25
The Jets running backs room will feature familiar faces as Breece Hall returns for his fourth season and second-year players Braelon Allen and Isaiah Davis will look to build on their strong rookie campaigns.
Hall led all Jets running backs with 1,359 total yards and 8 touchdowns last season, but the dual-threat tailback noted he went "back to the drawing board" this spring to focus on elevating his game. OC Tanner Engstrand has been impressed with his versatility and attention to detail, noting he "comes to work, works hard" and "leads by example."
"I know what I can do," Hall said. "I know the potential I have, but potential only goes so far. I want to be a product. I want to be able to say that I've done everything I wanted to do."
Hall will look for increased production as part of the three-man attack that Engstrand and HC Aaron Glenn have spoken about using this season.
"I think all three [are] going to play," Engstrand said of Hall, Allen and Davis. "Those top three guys, they're all pretty darn good football players and they all have a little bit of a different skillset you can see just by watching them. We'll see how the gameplan goes, but they'll all be involved in one way, shape or form."
Glenn was impressed throughout OTAs with the "big, physical men" in the RB stable.
"I don't know if there are three backs in this league that have the potential like these three," Glenn said. "Maybe there is, but I know I'm just focusing on what we have. I'm excited about the guys that we have here."
The running backs room also features Donovan Edwards, an undrafted free agent out of Michigan, and Zach Evans, a second-year player who joined the Green & White last December. Veteran Kene Nwangwu, who made an impact as a returner (99-yard TD in Week 13 vs. SEA) during two appearances for the Jets last season, is also in the mix.
