West Ham United’s squad is in need of a serious overhaul this summer.

Graham Potter’s men stumbled to a 14th-place Premier League finish last season, with many first-team stars underwhelming supporters for the majority of the campaign.

The Hammers look set to sell Mohammed Kudus to Tottenham for an estimated £55million, which would go a long way to funding the signings of several new players.

However, that might not be the end of the big-name sales.

AS Roma preparing to bid for Mavropanos

Konstantinos Mavropanos is another who could be on his way out of the London Stadium in the coming days or weeks.

MORE WEST HAM STORIES

Mavropanos, 27, signed for West Ham from Stuttgart in the summer of 2023 and made 35 appearances for the Hammers last season.

However, Sky Sport Italia reports that Roma are showing an interest in the centre-back, and that could interest could spark some interest in the West Ham boardroom.

Mavropanos is an established international with three years left on his contract, so he could fetch a significant fee – something David Sullivan will be fully aware of.

Potter has already shown interest in signing other younger centre-halves, and the sale of Mavropanis would likely fund at least one of these deals.

So, if Roma were to make a large bid for the Greek, it may well be accepted.

West Ham need a handful of solid signings

Graham Potter has his eye on England Under-21 star Charlie Cresswell and Argentine defender Kevin Lomonaco.

So, it might not be the end of the world to lose Mavropanos, assuming he is replaced by an equally competent centre-back.

Some pundits are already questioning how much of the £55m earned on Kudus will be reinvested in the squad. If they cash in on the Greek defender without replacing him, the club could be in danger of falling backwards instead of progressing.

The Hammers certainly need to invest in some fresh attacking talent. They only scored 46 goals in the Premier League last year, and now they’re losing one of the most dangerous flair players in Kudus.

It isn’t time to panic yet, but Potter will need to start making some moves in the transfer market soon, or fans could begin to get nervous.
