THE [Cherries](http://www.bournemouthecho.co.uk/sport/cherries/clubnews/) have lodged a bid for Chelsea goalkeeper Djordje Petrovic, but there is still some way to go for the deal to be completed, the Daily Echo understands.

Bournemouth are looking to make reinforcements in their goalkeeping department after Blues loanee Kepa Arrizabalaga returned to the club, since joining Arsenal.

The offer for the stopper has yet to be accepted, but negotiations ‘remain positive’, according to the BBC.

Reports have linked the Serbian international to Sunderland, Monaco and Strasbourg, where the 25-year-old spent on loan last season.

He enjoyed a positive campaign in France, winning the club’s player of the season award.

Petrovic joined Chelsea from New England Revolution in 2023, signing a seven-year contract, but he is looking to leave Stamford Bridge to become a first team starter.

The Cherries have five keepers in Andoni Iraola’s squad, in Will Dennis and Cal McKenna, as well as Neto, Mark Travers and Alex Paulsen, all of whom went on loan last season.
