Bournemouth goalkeeper Mark Travers has been linked with a move to Everton in this transfer window.

Joao Virginia parted ways with the Toffees and so did Asmir Begovic and Zan-Luk Leban, leaving them three stoppers shy.

Travers, 26, appears likely to be allowed to leave by the Cherries as they’re themselves looking to add to their goalkeeping department.

Djordje Petrovic joining from Chelsea means Bournemouth to allow Travers to leave

There is a goalkeeping merry-go-round developing in the Premier League, with Alex Crook issuing an update on Thursday afternoon.

The talkSPORT journalist claims that Bournemouth are close to reaching an agreement with Chelsea to sign Djordje Petrovic.

Should that move go ahead, Travers will then join Everton and join their backup goalkeeping contingent behind Jordan Pickford.

Sunderland are no longer in the race for Petrovic, so that is expected to speed things.

Everton are certainly making a shrewd move by signing Travers

Travers is an excellent backup goalkeeper signing for Everton, offering reliability and Premier League experience at 26 years old.

His impressive loan spell at Middlesbrough in the 2024-25 Championship season showcases his shot-stopping ability, which aligns with David Moyes’ preference for a dependable deputy to Pickford.

Travers’ 82 appearances for Bournemouth, with 30 clean sheets, demonstrate his familiarity with top-flight demands, despite being behind Neto and Kepa Arrizabalaga in their pecking order.

His composure adds depth to Everton’s squad, especially after losing Begovic and Virginia.

With Bournemouth eyeing Petrovic, Travers is available, making him a cost-effective, high-potential option for Everton’s ambitions at the Hill Dickinson Stadium.
